The Office of the Public Guardian provides decision-making mechanisms for individuals who are unable to make personal, non-financial decisions for themselves. The OPG does this through the Personal Directives Act, the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act and the Mental Health Act. The OPG also administers the Personal Directives Registry and the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Registry.

Our services are designed to enhance the lives and well-being of older adults (55+) and seniors in our community. Services include: Senior’s CHOICES, funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Age Well at Home Initiative, Nav-CARE, Meals On Wheels, HomeMaker Services, Medical Transportation, Older Adult Support Worker, and Navigation. Our older adult support worker and advocate can help unravel the complexities of abuse against older adults 55+ aging in the community. We offer voluntary, in-home or office visits in the City and County of Camrose and office visits once a month in the City of Wetaskiwin. We can help if someone is mistreating you, taking control of your money, or pressuring you in ways that don’t feel right by providing goal-oriented support and advocacy. Accessing our services is confidential and anyone can refer. We are a part of Camrose & District FCSS.

Education, innovative programming, support and hope for individuals or families dealing with or concerned about substance abuse/addiction within their family. It is for families with children of any age, including adult children. For adult children that have parents struggling, or any family member of a loved one who is struggling. All groups are professionally facilitated by persons trained in addictions and recovery, knowledge based experience and facilitation. Information/schedules for Parents Empowering Parents Society Family Recovery group, in person and Virtual Groups meetings can be viewed at www.pepsociety.ca (https://pepsociety.ca/). The Family Recovery Group has a restorative justice program, M.E. (Motivational Experience) where participants with lived experience provide insight into the impact drug addiction has on individuals, families, and the community, as well as a therapeutic opportunity for change. A professionally managed recovery support line is available 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week including holidays.
