Men & Boys Program Facilitators
Location: Camrose, AB and surrounding rural communities
Position Type: Contract | $40/hour
Schedule: One evening per week (2 hour group sessions), (approximately 8-10 weeks per program; one in fall and one in winter)
About The Role
Changing Ways: Real Strength, Real Change is hiring two contract facilitators to co-lead Anger Management group programming:
- Adult Anger Management Facilitator (Adults 18+)
- Youth Anger Management Facilitator (Youth)
These positions support participants in developing healthy emotional regulation, communication, and conflict resolution skills through structured, evidence-informed group programming.
Facilitators will co-lead weekly sessions using the Anger Management curriculum. Participants will learn to understand and manage emotions, recognize early warning signs of anger, develop personalized calming strategies, and build healthier responses to conflict and challenging situations. Applicants are welcome to apply for one position or both.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Anger Management facilitator training (provided).
- Facilitate weekly group sessions in alignment with the curriculum.
- Create a safe, respectful, and supportive group environment.
- Track attendance, and maintain open communication with program coordinator
- Collaborate with co-facilitators, program coordinator
- Uphold program fidelity while responding appropriately to group needs and dynamics.
- Participate in supervision and debrief sessions with Changing Ways staff.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in social work, psychology, or related human services field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in group facilitation, ideally with men, and or youth, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience working in the areas of family violence, parenting, or child welfare an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to manage challenging conversations.
- Trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
- Ability to work evenings (program runs once per week in the evening).
- Clear Police Information Check and Child Welfare Check.
