Program Coordinator
Location: Camrose, AB and surrounding rural communities
Position Type: Full-time (35 hours/week) | Term: Until June 2027, with the possibility of extension
About The Role
Changing Ways is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the delivery of the Provincial Family Violence Treatment Program (PFVTP) in partnership with Counselling Alberta, this role will also support community education and programming. This role focuses on providing assessment, brief counselling, and program coordination for individuals mandated to attend family violence treatment through the provincial court system, Community Corrections (probation), or Children and Family Services. The Program Coordinator will provide individual support, readiness-for-change counselling, and preparation for group programming that addresses factors contributing to intimate partner violence. Training related to the PFVTP model and tools will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments and brief individual counselling sessions (typically 1–5 sessions) to determine readiness for group participation.
- Support delivery of Intimate Partner Violence treatment programming
- Prepare participants for group programming focused on accountability, healthy relationships, and behaviour change.
- Deliver services in person and virtually as required.
- Maintain confidential client records, assessments, and outcome measures.
- Collect required program data and participate in evaluation and outcome tracking.
- Provide referrals and assist participants with navigation to community supports.
- Facilitate or support workshops and programming
- Build relationships with community partners, referral agencies, and local organizations.
- Participate in PFVTP training, meetings, and program development activities.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in counselling, group facilitation, or human services.
- Knowledge of family violence, or intimate partner violence is an asset.
- Strong assessment, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed, client-centred support.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Requirements
- Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check required.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Some evening or weekend work may be required.
