Justice Support & System Navigation Coordinator

Location: Camrose, AB and surrounding rural communities

Position Type: One year contract, with possibility of extension. 21 hours/week. $26.00-$29.00/hour

‍About The Role

Changing Ways is seeking a Justice Support & System Navigation Coordinator to support individuals and families impacted by gender-based violence (GBV). This role will support the delivery of the Restoring Respect initiative, with a focus on court support, justice system navigation, advocacy, coordinated referrals, and restorative justice processes where appropriate and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, trauma-informed support to individuals
• Help participants understand justice system processes, terminology, appointments, and available options.
• Provide court support, including preparation for court-related appointments and accompaniment where appropriate.
• Support participants with organizing information, completing non-legal documentation, and preparing questions for legal or justice professionals.
• Provide advocacy and coordinated referrals to legal, victim services, social, health, housing, financial, and community supports.
• Build and maintain relationships with justice system partners, referral agencies, and community organizations.
• Support community education, awareness activities, and resource development related to GBV, restorative justice, and justice system navigation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Justice Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, family violence, and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience with court support, victim services, case management, system navigation, advocacy, or restorative justice is an asset.

Requirements

• Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check required.
• Valid driver's licence.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Some travel throughout the Camrose and surrounding rural communities may be required.
