Links and Resources
Local and Alberta Resources
A wide variety of resource links are kept current on the following voluntary sector sites:
- Creating a Volunteer Orientation Manual - A Template for Nonprofit Organizations.
- Volunteer Alberta
- The RCVO - operated by Volunteer Alberta, is the information destination for Alberta's nonprofit sector, providing consultations and resources related to agency and volunteer management, board and fund development, and voluntary sector issues. RCVO's website offers an online catalogue of its library collection, a quarterly newsletter, "how-to" articles for quick answers to common questions, and information about RCVO's many free services, including acces to funder databases, book sales, and "On the Road," a travelling library program.
- VAULT - is an online site developed specifically for Managers of Volunteers to collaborate, find and share resources and post and find training opportunities specific to engaging volunteers. This site has been developed by Volunteer Alberta, with support from the Government of Alberta, exclusively for Managers of Volunteers in Alberta. After consultation with Volunteer Manager Groups across the province, it was identified that being able to connect and collaborate with each other, share resources and help establish best practices would be a valuable asset to the profession. Check out this FREE NEW TOOL and encourage all your networks to register and access these valuable resources, networking and training opportunities.

- The Charities File - resource is designed to help charitable organizations file their annual Registered Charity Information Returns (the T3010A Package) to the Canada Revenue Agency, more accurately, and on time. The tools available on the website - downloadable learning resources, fact sheets, quizzes, tips and useful links - are intended to provide additional training and support for board members, staff and volunteers to strengthen the administrative practices of charities. The goal is to make assembling financial information easier and more accessible within your organizations.
- Office in a Box - equips small and rural charities with the basic administrative infrastructure needed to keep on top of their affairs. Download and print color or b/w templates and files.
- Charity Central's aim is to provide information and resourse materials to help guide Registered Charities through the ins and outs of issuing official donation receipts, maintaining proper books and records, and complying with the tax requirements of charitable fundraising. Our website includes plain language information, interactive tutorials, podcasts and FAQs. New information continues to be added regularly! Please visit us at www.charitycentral.ca.
