Services and supports mandated by the Child, Youth & Family Enhancement Act, Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act, Drug Endangered Children Act, Child Care Licensing Act and Family Support for Children with Disabilities Act. This includes adoptions, foster care, kinship care, child intervention, family enhancement and protection, child care licensing, subsidy and support, and family violence prevention/intervention. In addition, the Authority/Ministry supports community initiatives and programs such as Outreach, FASD Initiatives and facility licensing. If a community member has concerns over a child's safety and well-being, call the Safe Kids Hotline: 1-877-385-KIDS (5437). The Hotline is staffed 24/7/365. The Hotline is also an information and referral line.

EPSS Opportunities Fund - helps persons with a permanent self-identified disability to prepare for, obtain & keep employment or self-employment. EPSS Employment Training Program - a 26 week employment program offered to unemployed or underemployed Albertans who want to start a business. EPSS Employment & Career Preparation Program for individuals18 years or older who are currently receiving benefits from Human Services, Alberta Works & are temporarily unable to participate in employment or training due to health concerns or family responsibilities. EPSS Changing Directions assists individuals (18 years & over) in re-entering the work force at a level that is conducive to their personal situations & abilities. Must be receiving benefits from Human Services AB Works & have a personal desire to reassess previous employment and reconnect to new opportunities in local labour market.

Family Justice Services are a group of programs and services offered by Alberta Justice in collaboration with the courts of Alberta. Family Justice Service works directly with individuals and also with the judges of the Provincial Court and Court of Queen's Bench to help people choose appropriate solutions for their family law issues. Family Court Counsellors provide services, at no cost, to families who are involved in parenting disputes and are living separate and apart. This service is designed for people who are not represented by a lawyer. Services include: information on options and services, referrals to services & and programs; mediation/parenting after separation, focus on communication for separated parents, information on effects of separation and divorce on children; help to negotiate agreements; assistance with court applications (Parenting Orders, Contact Orders, Guardianship, Child Support, Spousal/Partner Support); and presenting the case in Provincial Court. Services do not include providing legal advice and are not available for divorce matters.
